Mentor Introduction

Ed
Ed

Edward is a graduate of the University of Oxford, where he completed the world‑famous PPE course (Politics, Philosophy and Economics). His own academic record is exemplary - five A‑levels at the highest grades, including Maths (A*), Further Maths (A*), Additional Further Maths (A*), Physics (A*), History (A) and Extended Project Qualification (A*) - so parents can be confident that both his subject knowledge and study techniques are first‑class.

During more than 2,500 hours of bespoke one‑to‑one teaching, Edward has guided students from the earliest stages of numeracy right through to A‑level success and Oxbridge entrance. His strongest subjects are Mathematics and Physics, but his analytical training makes him equally effective at preparing candidates for the TSA, MAT and the demanding interview processes of elite British universities. Because he has worked with many international families, Edward understands the expectations of Chinese parents who value discipline, precision and clear communication of progress.

Edward’s teaching philosophy is simple: true success arises when knowledge meets confidence. Each new student receives a personalised learning plan tailored to strengths, weaknesses and future goals. Lessons mix clear explanation with carefully chosen practice questions, so that understanding is immediately converted into exam‑ready technique. The results speak for themselves; recent pupils report grade jumps of two levels within a single year and describe how Edward’s calm patience turned fear of mathematics into genuine enjoyment.

Disha
Disha

Disha graduated from St Anne’s College, University of Oxford, with a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics—one of the university’s most intellectually demanding programmes. Her own sixth‑form record is equally strong: top grades in Mathematics, Physics and Economics, plus an Extended Project on neocolonialism in South Africa that demonstrated both scholarly depth and original research skills.

During five years of professional tutoring Disha has guided students through GCSEs, A levels and the highly selective Oxbridge admissions process. Although Economics is her specialist subject, she takes real pleasure in teaching across the curriculum; that breadth has honed an adaptive style that quickly identifies how each learner absorbs ideas best. Whether she is explaining the calculus behind marginal cost or rehearsing a PPE interview, Disha tailors her approach so that every concept “clicks” for the individual sitting opposite her.

Her lessons balance targeted syllabus coverage with wider intellectual training. Students practise critical‑thinking frameworks, structured essay planning and systematic problem‑solving—transferable skills that raise performance not only in exams but also in future university studies and professional life. Parents value this holistic method because it builds independence as well as knowledge; Disha’s pupils leave her sessions better equipped to tackle unfamiliar questions with confidence and creativity.

Cameron
Cameron

Cameron is an Oxford‑trained mathematician who pairs top‑tier academic credentials with an engaging, down‑to‑earth teaching style. He read Mathematics at St Hugh’s College, graduating with a B.A. before earning a Distinction in the highly selective M.Sc. programme in Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at the University of Nottingham. During his Oxford years he served as President of the St Hugh’s Maths Society and acted as access representative for the university’s Mathematical Institute, roles that sharpened both his leadership and his talent for explaining complex ideas to diverse audiences.

At school in the UK, Cameron achieved outstanding grades in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Spanish, sitting GCSE and A‑level Maths early to tackle the prestigious Advanced Extension Award. This background allows him to relate warmly to students from every educational setting while modelling the high‑performance study habits needed for elite university entry.

Cameron began tutoring in secondary school, guiding younger pupils in mathematics and helping a native Spanish speaker master English comprehension. Over the past seven years he has supported a wide spectrum of learners, from Key Stage 3 science up to A‑level Further Maths and preparation for Oxford’s demanding Mathematics Admissions Test (MAT). A year‑long placement in a secondary school gave him deep experience adapting lessons for small groups, one‑to‑one sessions and students with special educational needs—expertise that translates into genuinely personalised teaching.

Above all, Cameron believes that clear communication unlocks mathematical beauty. He carefully diagnoses how each student thinks, then adapts explanations, visual aids and practice problems to match that style. Parents appreciate the combination of rigorous subject knowledge, meticulous progress tracking and infectious enthusiasm; students quickly gain both competence and confidence, discovering that mathematics and the sciences are not hurdles but gateways to creativity. On our Hong Kong summer campus Cameron will deliver master‑classes in STEAM and inspiring science workshops—sharing the fascination that has powered his own academic journey and nurturing the next generation of problem‑solvers.

Sasha
Sasha

Sasha was an academic‑scholar at St Hugh’s College, University of Oxford, where she earned a BA in Ancient and Modern History and cultivated a particular fascination with the Early Imperial Roman Empire and the Islamic Golden Age. Her own school record—four A* A‑levels in Mathematics, History, English Literature, and Philosophy & Theology, plus eleven A* GCSEs—demonstrates both intellectual breadth and consistent excellence. A gifted linguist, she continues to study Spanish and Arabic, skills that enriched her dissertation research and equip her to connect with students from many cultural backgrounds.

Over several years of tutoring Sasha has guided learners through every stage of academic development, from subject mastery to the competitive admissions process for Oxford and Cambridge. She also holds a TEFL qualification, enabling her to communicate complex ideas clearly to students for whom English is a second language. Every lesson is tailored: she analyses a pupil’s preferred learning style, crafts questions that spark genuine curiosity, and builds a structured path that turns unfamiliar material into confident understanding.

Parents value the way Sasha blends rigorous scholarship with a supportive atmosphere. Her students not only raise their grades; they grow into articulate, independent thinkers who can discuss history, literature, and philosophical ideas with maturity and enthusiasm. Whether she is unpacking Roman political reforms, analysing medieval Islamic scientific advances, or coaching an Oxbridge mock interview, Sasha’s goal is always the same: to help young people recognise and showcase just how brilliant they truly are.

This summer Sasha will bring her expertise and energy to our Hong Kong residential campus, offering engaging humanities workshops, one‑to‑one Oxbridge preparation, and language‑learning inspiration. Her combination of top‑tier credentials, cross‑cultural sensitivity, and personalised teaching makes her an invaluable mentor for ambitious students aiming for the world’s leading universities.
